IMEC Technologies Inspection System
Inspector T&T® is a web based inspection system for auditing and inspecting equipment, buildings and work environments for insurance or regulatory reasons. For example, the system is used for periodic audits of equipment such as fire extinguishers and safety ladders, for inspecting eye-wash stations, first aid kits and spill kits, and for reviewing buildings, vehicles or mobile equipment.
How Inspector T&T works
Inspector T&T lets you first identify and record a set of items that you want to monitor along with their locations, for example safety ladders or spill kits or vehicles. Each item is given a bar-code or RFID tag and each item location also has a bar code or RFID tag associated with it. You also use the web-based system to specify a schedule for inspection of those items. From that point on the system’s workflow will send automated reminders to you and your staff whenever an inspection or audit action is due.
Staff use a hand-held device or smartphone to carry out an inspection by scanning each item and confirming their GPS location. They are then asked to complete a short checklist. Inspectors can capture photographs and write comments and record these with an item they are inspecting – for example, to highlight a fracture on a ladder or missing items from a spill kit.
Safety Compliance Management Software
One important feature of Inspector T&T is that individual users cannot allocate a pass or fail solely using their own judgement – the system determines the score based on the responses to the audit questions for a given item. This enforcement helps ensures compliance with the safety regulations. Take for example a spill kit that is supposed to hold 30 wipe pads but only has 28. In some systems, the person doing the inspection would have the discretion to say that 28 is enough. With Inspector T&T that decision is made by the system and central administrators.
