Pretoria Energy Mepal, which is based between Ely and Chatteris, was served the improvement notice by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
It follows a fatal incident at its site in Ireton Way on November 17, 2025, in which Žavinta Petrašiūtė sadly died.
Since then, her family have paid tribute to a “bright, hardworking and kind young woman” who was “loved and appreciated by everyone who knew her.”
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: “Officers are carrying out enquiries, and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed.”
The notice was served on the firm on November 25, eight days after Ms Petrašiūtė was pronounced dead.
Pretoria Energy Mepal was found to have breached the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations.
The firm has until January 23 to comply with the notice.
A spokesperson for HSE said “An investigation into the company is ongoing following an incident at its premises in November 2025.
“The Improvement Notice was served as part of that investigation.
“We will not hesitate to take action when health and safety breaches are identified.”
